Obituary for Annibale "Bill" Zulian

Peacefully with the family at his side on January 5, 2020. Devoted husband to Flora (Tosello) for over 64 years. Loving father to Claudio (Laurie), Lorena (Jeff Smith), Ivo (Annie) and Paolo (Alison). Caring grandfather to Andrew (Melinda), Lyndsay, Vanessa, Alisha, Isabel, David, Samantha and Mitchell. Predeceased by his parents Giovanni and Matilde (Paccagnan) and siblings Leone, Gottardo, Antonio, Ricardo and Salute. Survived by his youngest brother Angelo (Lucia) and numerous nephews, nieces and their children in Canada, Australia, Argentina and Italia. Annibale courageously left Italia with a new family to forge a life in Canada. After traveling across Canada, working for CN Rail, he settled in Milton, Ontario in 1956. A man of enormous strength, he also had a kind and loving heart; giving his children every opportunity to explore and excel in life. In turn they gave him what he cherished the most in life: the happiness of a loving and harmonious family. After a lifetime of hard work, he enjoyed nearly 30 years of retirement, tending his gardens and his country property while continuing on with the Italian traditions of making wine and salami. He insisted his children learn the Canadian ways, while not forgetting our rich heritage. He was a founding member of the Italian Canadian Club of Milton.

All of his grandchildren enjoyed his broad smile and scratchy beard!

A private family visitation and service is planned for Friday, January 10 with internment at Evergreen Cemetery.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, March 22, 2020 from 1 pm to 4 pm at the Italian Canadian Club of Milton 104 Tremaine Road Milton.

Always a builder, donations to the Townsend-Smith Hospice Foundation are deeply appreciated instead of flowers.

Thank you to everyone who supported our father & husband and our family during the past year of his life, Birkdale, Sunrise of Burlington, Waterford LTCH staff and Oakville Hospital Medical Surgical & Palliative Care Unit. You made his life as best as it could be. Thank you for the flowers and donations to the Townsend Smith Hospice Foundation. Your kindness is greatly appreciated.
