Obituary

It is with great sadness that we share the news of the death of Christina Burnett of Campbellville at Ian Anderson House in Oakville. Chris passed away on her birthday July 26, 2020 at the age of 64. Dear daughter of Ernest Burnett. Predeceased by her mother Mary (nee Doyle)(2004) and brother Alan (2015). Profoundly missed by her brother’s Kenneth Burnett and Garth (Lynn) Burnett. Lovingly remembered by Aunts Nora Groenendyk, Enes Doyle and Cecilia Doyle, niece’s Kendra and Jade and nephew’s Jamie, Adam, Kevin and grandnephew Alex. Sorely missed by cousins Kim Groenendyk(Dave), Dan Groenendyk (Jennifer) and Bill Groenendyk (Sarah), Mark Doyle, Karen, Laurie, Lisa, Cathy and Bryan and so many other family members and friends who were lucky enough to know her.

Chris was a renowned artist in the Campbellville/Halton area and her work earned her the Heritage Visual Arts Award for the "Milton Fall Fair". That work of art, “Heralds of Spring”, and “Arawana” are three of her most memorable works. Chris was an avid gardener and her beautiful property was part of the Milton Horticultural Society walking tour. Chris spent her whole life helping others. She loved all animals especially her dogs and feline friends and will be so missed by her present buddy “Buddy”. Her reward will be great in Heaven celebrating her birthday in Paradise.

In memory of Chris donations to Ian Anderson House in Oakville and or Milton/Oakville Humane Society would be appreciated by the family.

I was so sad and shocked to hear of Chris' passing. She had a heart of gold and was so good to my dogs she babysat and loved for many years. Her knowledge, her care, her generosity, creativity and wisdom will be much missed by so many and Mother Earth. My sincere condolences to her family and loved ones and all her four legged friends. Because of Chris, the world is a better place.

I am truly sorry for all of Chris's family, friends and nature buddies that will miss her so terribly. I feel so blessed that she walked into my small village craft shop in Campbellville, Ontario one day in the 80's and was honoured that she would allow me to sell some of her renowned prints and whimsical folk art. Chris's talent was unique, articulate and perfection. She was a master in the arts as she was in her gardens. Chris was a mentor to me in the world of gardening. I admired her artful vision, strength and determination. We soon after ventured into a small gardening business which we so cleverly called Chrisandria. (Chris and myself Andrea). Eventually we pursued our own gardening paths but our friendship always remained true. We continued to share our knowledge and interest in plants and animals. I will forever always be grateful for our friendship. I will miss running in to you at all our favorite Greenhouses, Nurseries, Garden Centers and shops where we would compare our finds. I will miss our outings to Arts & Craft shows and Garden Shows. Your company was always a pleasure. I will miss our talks.
Love you my dear friend. May the heavens treat you with all the love and respect you so deserve. Peace be with you.

our long conversations about everything from 'shoes to ships to sealing wax' I will miss exchanging cherished recipes. I will miss dining at the Mandarin where the waitresses knew both her and Ernie and asked after him. I will miss tea and cookies at the kitchen table. I will miss watching Chris treasure her foundling raccoons. I will miss going to antique shows and discovering treasures that only we could love.
Most of all I will miss my loving friend.Bye, Chris!

I will miss my friend. I will miss our 'outings' to garden centres from which we came home with the car overflowing with plants we had no idea where to place in our already overflowing gardens. I will miss visits to Home Sense and the Dollar store where Chris found ideas she could use in her art. I will miss the tours we did around her beautiful garden every week when I came to visit. I will miss
