I met Janet over the last 7 years in our capacities as Head of Regulatory Affairs for our respective countries, Janet for Canada and myself for Australia. We often found ourselves as close allies with responsibilities closely aligned. I will remember Janet's laugh, her camaraderie and her interest in people. I looked to Janet for leadership and sisterhood. I am so deeply saddened by this very unexpected news and on behalf of my team and the Australian GSK family I wish to pass on our deepest condolences to Janet's family.

I was so fortunate to have known Janet. I worked with Janet for 16 years and If I needed advice or needed a smile she was the one to go to. If Janet was on a project you looked forward to working on it with her because you knew it would be done with creativity and with lots of fun. She made all of us laugh. She cared deeply for everyone. She was unselfish and generous and looked out for those she worked with like a mother bear. For those of us who worked with her in Regulatory Affairs we all looked forward to the year end recognition events as Janet always had the best ideas and made everyone feel special and appreciated. She spent so much of her own time making sure things were done to perfection and always with fun and humour. I wish I had a picture of her with all her crystal awards that we used to receive and how much we laughed together when we presented her with the ultimate year end crystal award - maybe someone has this one. Even at this terribly sad time when I think about my time with Janet it brings a smile to my face because that's what Janet did for me each time I was with her. I miss her. Dear Anthony, I am thinking of you and how hard this must be for you; when I think of Janet I think of you. You had a special bond that was evident to all who know the two of you. I remember sitting with her at Townhall meetings and she would lean over to me and say I wonder what Andy is going to ask this time and you would ask your questions regardless if it was the CEO - it didn't matter to you and it made her proud.
I remember Janet saying that her pet peeve was injustice or unfairness; the fact that she has left us so soon is the greatest injustice.
