Dorothy Georgina “Jean” Dawe, 96 years of age, passed away on January 21, 2019, at Allendale Long Term Care Home in Milton, Ontario. Born in Mornington, Ontario, daughter of the late Elmer & Susan Watson.
Jean was raised in the Beach area of Toronto where she met her husband Don at Kew Beach United Church. Jean & Don married on June 20, 1947. Three children later, choosing to raise them in the then small town of Brampton, close to golf courses and hockey arenas, they were married for over 30 years until the untimely passing of Don at the age of 54.
Jean was a selfless, caring and giving woman who volunteered for over thirty years to the Canadian Red Cross, Cancer Society and Brampton’s Peel Memorial Hospital.
Pre-deceased by husband Don Dawe, son Greg Dawe, grandson Jordene Dawe, siblings Shirley Bamford and her spouse Luke, Betty Black and her spouse Bob, brother Jack Watson and brother-in-laws Alec Dawe and Kirk Kirkpatrick.
Survived by son Brad and his wife Cathy, daughter Sandy Prong and her husband Mike, granddaughters Brielle Prong, Jennifer Dawe, Jaime Jacob, Jessica Payne, Shishane Johnstone, grandsons Ryan & Darren Prong and sister-in-laws Barb Dawe, Audrey Kirkpatrick and Ruth Watson and many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Sunday January 27th at Lionhead Golf & Country Club, 8525 Mississauga Road, Brampton, from 1pm to 4pm. All those who new Jean and her family are welcome to attend.
