Obituary

It is with incredible sadness that we announce the passing of Voyo Jim Janjevich, on Wednesday July 8th, 2020. Jim slipped away peacefully after a courageous and gutsy 10 month battle with cancer.
Although taken too soon, Jim lived life to the fullest. He took pleasure in the simple things in life - family, friends, playing golf and spending his winters in Florida at Timber Pines.

Jim is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 54 years, Elizabeth Janjevich, his loyal sons, Jamie (Melissa) & Doug (Kim) and his pride and joy, his 4 grandchildren, Alexandra, Jake, Zack & Ben. Jim will be sadly missed by his siblings Danny (Carolyn) & Denise and he will be reunited with his oldest brother, Mike. Jim will be fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews, many friends and countless golf buddies.
The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to all of the wonderful doctors and nurses who showed Jim such care and compassion, especially Dr. Chan, Dr. Watada and Jim’s incredible nurse, Arianna.

Here’s to hitting them long and straight and just making the putts when they count.

Family and friends are invited to visit at the McKERSIE-KOCHER FUNERAL HOME 114 Main St. E. Milton 905-878-4452 from 2-5pm on Monday July 13, 2020. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations in memory of Jim to the Terry Fox Foundation would be appreciated by the family. A private family service is to be held.

Please accept our deepest condolences & sympathy to your family. Jim's positive and fun loving personality will be greatly missed at the golf course. I will personally miss hearing that "I was going down today" on the course and feeling of the "waterbug" looking for balls along the tree line at Glencairn. Jim always made you feel good when you saw him … he will be missed and his spirit will always be remembered and appreciated.

Jamie, please pass on my sincerest condolences to your Mother and brother. I would have liked to pass this on to you in person but I was advised that with my diabetes and heart condition it is not the environment I should be in. Suffice to say my dealings with your Dad through hockey and baseball were always enjoyable and in many cases helpful. Having lost my Dad I know how it can hurt and my advice to you is to not only think about the good times but to openly talk about them. Trust me it will help.

Michelle and I wish to express our deepest sympathy to you Elizabeth and your family. I have a lot of cherished memories of times I spent with Jim.The person I enjoyed working with the most in my long career was Jim. He was such a great guy and liked by everyone. He was a great worker a self starter and I admired him a lot. I know Jim's family always came first. On a few occasions I was able to join him and watch his talented sons play hockey. He was so proud of his boys then as well as the last opportunity I had to talk to him. We also had many competitive rounds of golf together and I know Jim really enjoyed taking my money on the course which he often did. We live in a very difficult time right now and unfortunately with my health problems I will be unable to join yo today but Jim will be in our prayers. Sincerely, Gerry

Uncle Voyo as he was fondly known to us......seemed to live life well & enjoyed it as much as anyone could. I remember taking turns to play card games every Saturday night.... a 1/2 century ago at Jedo & Babs house on Wallace avenue.
He will be greatly missed!
My sincerest condolences to the Milton Janjevich families.
My sincere condolences.
