Obituary

Peacefully passed away in his home at 4:30 pm on Wednesday, May 15th 2019 after a long and difficult illness. Hans is the beloved husband of his teen-years sweetheart, Marianne, and the proud father of Stephan and Uschi, and through marriage, Shelly and Rob. He was delighted with his six grandchildren, Grace, Graham, Reid, Kyle, Colin and Kaden. Hans was born to Johann Schweighofer (Sr.) and Kreszanz Müller on April 9th, 1946 in Dietramszell, Germany and immigrated to Canada in 1967 at the young age of 21. Everyone who knew him will remember him as a strong man and social storyteller with either his head under a car hood, feet on the soccer field, hand swinging an Eisstock, seated at a Stammtisch, or relaxing at his country home with friends all with - of course - a cold beer!

Friends are welcome to join the visitation at McKersie-Kocher Funeral Home 114 Main St. E. Milton 905-878-4452 on Tuesday, May 21, 2019 from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm. A ceremony will be held in the funeral home chapel at 5:00 pm, with the reception following at the Grand Chalet in Milton. If desired, donations in memory of Hans, as a tribute to his many experiences mentoring and caring heart towards those less fortunate trying to get ahead in life, can be made at The Pinball Clemons Foundation.

Hans, you are a very strong, generous, loving man, and you will be missed by many. Go now with peace and comfort, holding the hand of Marianne forevermore.

Stephan:

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Though I never had the opportunity to meet him, he appeared to be a good and humble man, the type of fatherly figure everyone should have at their side, because of his willingness to help unconditionally. Both in his photograph and his actions, you appear to be a very close resemblance of him. Keep up the tradition!

Cheers,
Sean and Maria

We have many fond memories of Hans, and are truly saddened by his passing.
I do believe he is in a much more comfortable place, he put up a gallant fight against his several illnesses.
He was a good man, I was fortunate to know him.
