Obituary

It is with much love and sadness that we share the passing of our fiercely loved young man, Jonathan Michael Stewart. He was 27. He had been putting smiles on the faces of loved ones and strangers alike since he made his grand entrance April 28th, 1992 in Montreal, QC becoming the younger brother of Kristin and only son of Kassie Souva and David Stewart. Jonathan graduated from the special education program at E.C. Drury High School at the age of 21. Although his life was shorter than we'd have liked, he lived it happily and energetically to the fullest! Having many adventures impacting everyone he met. To know him was to love him. His adventures included meeting Shania Twain in a private meet n greet, traveling to Nova Scotia to reunite with family and friends, going in a helicopter over Niagara Falls and enjoying the boat tour there. He loved going on mom's motorcycle, Canada’s Wonderland for the rides and rollercoasters, Go-karting, road trip Christmases to Montreal and much more. Jonathan loved hiking, swimming, eating Dill Pickle Chips, drinking Root Beer, playing with his R/C truck and trains and watching Barney. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother. He is survived by his parents, sister, stepsisters, paternal grandparents, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. A special thank you to all of his support staff over the years, especially his core care team at CLNH. Donations in memory may be made to SUDEP Canada or Dreams Take Flight.

Family and friends are invited to visit at the McKERSIE-KOCHER FUNERAL HOME 114 Main St. E. Milton 905-878-4452 on Friday, July 19, 2019 from 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Saturday, July 20, 2019 at 3:00 pm.

Dearest Jonathon was an honour and privilege to know and Love.He taught me so many many things over the years and I am grateful to have been part of his too short life.I will always remember his wonderful smile and his happy excitement when he visited the office.I will also always remember and hear echo in my head his special way of greeting. He will be missed by his wide circle of those many many people who adored caring for him.His love of trains and Shania Twain is legendary!I recall his delight, excitement and how thrilled he was when I saw him right after his personal Shania visit. He was on cloud 9.
Jonathon was blessed to have Kassie as his Mom.We have many shared memories of Jonathon's "escapades"!She was the most tremendous staunch advocate for him always.Dear Kassie ,my thoughts and prayers are with you and Kristin and your extended families at this sad and difficult time.
I hope Jonathon is driving the longest locomotive train that Heaven and all God's Angels can provide and that he is playing Shania and singing at the top of his lungs.
With my most sincere sympathies in your sad loss of Mister Jonathon,
Heather Foster

Jonathan was loving and full of life but what I remember most is that he was so very charming! He could get a person to do just about ANYTHING for him with his powers of persuasion. Jonathan, you will always be in our hearts. Enjoy your time hanging with the angels and watching trains go by from up above.
Sherron Grant and family.
